To be incorporated in December of 2021, Lavedon was established as the first official American single malt whiskey under the new rule published by the TTB that formally defines the category.<br><br>

In addition, Lavedon was established exactly 300 years after the recognition of La Nouvelle-Orléans as the colonal capital of French Louisiana in December of 1721.  In 1721, the cartographer, Adrien de Pauger, designed the city's street layout. He honored France's ruling family with the naming of Bourbon Street, thereby inspiring the birth of bourbon whiskey.
